Reminder ALL Seniors,
Please make sure to turn in your order form this Wednesday @ LUNCH to the Josten's Booth Table in the amphitheater.  You need to turn this in order to get a cap and gown for graduation!
If you are ordering additional items, please have your 50$ ready as well!

AUDITIONS FOR WINTER SHOW!
We will hold try-outs for the winter musical, NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, on Monday and Tuesday, October 26 and 27. Sign up to audition and pick up a form in the PAC classroom. Bring your completed form to Monday's vocal audition in the Multi-Purpose room after school, along with a memorized song from a traditional Broadway musical. Bring the sheet music in your key. An accompanist will be provided. The dance audition will be held after school on Tuesday in the dance studio. Dress so that you can move. You must attend both auditions to be considered for the show. You must also maintain a 2.0 GPA to participate. Please contact Mr. Friedman if you have any questions.

Yearbook Sibling Photos
Do you have a brother or sister at this school? Come to the Spirit Lawn at lunch on October 19-21 to have your sibling picture taken.

A Message from Ms. Wardell
The celebration for Teen Read Week starts today!  Celebrate with us after school in the library today, as we thank Ms. McCabe's Photo class and Ms. Yapp's art/multimedia class for their participation in making posters and bookmarks!  Also, any models who participated, all are welcome to our after school celebration Monday in the library. Let's all celebrate the joy of reading!

All San Mateo High students are invited to join us on Monday, October 19th, from 6:30pm-8:30pm at Mills High School for the District Wide College and Career Fair. Highlights of the evening will include:

Attention Juniors and Seniors                                                                                                                The University of Southern California will be presenting tomorrow in the M building during 3rd period! Willamette University will be in the career center on Wednesday, October 21st during 4th period.   Students interested in attending either school should pick up a pass in the career center PRIOR to the presentation!"

Boys JV and Varsity Soccer Meeting

Attention juniors!
Middle College, a high school program for juniors and seniors at College of San Mateo, is accepting applications for Spring 2016. The application deadline is Thursday, October 22.
Applications are available in the San Mateo counseling office or on the Middle College website. For more information, contact your guidance counselor or the Middle College office (574-6101)

Save the Date –  Come support SMHS Chamber Singers 
San Mateo High School and Burlingame High School invite you to join us at the Burlingame Avenue Train Station on Saturday, October 24th for the annual BHS Playathon! Come and support the Pep Band, Jazz Band, and Choir (including SMHS Chamber Singers as our music students perform from 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.) Home-baked treats will be on sale all day enjoy mouth-watering cakes, cookies and more as you support music programs for our students. Enter our drawing at event for a chance to win fabulous prizes. You do not need to be present to win. Winners will be announced between 3:30-4:00 pm. Come enjoy a big day of instrumental and vocal music, while supporting Performing Arts at our public schools!

Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Volleyball team for winning the silver bracket championship in the Stockton Classic Tournament this weekend!  Congratulations to junior Jazmine McDonald for an incredible performance with 33 assists, 12 kills and 8 digs.  Sophomore Logan Taft also had a great day with 33 assists, 4 kills and 6 digs.  Also congratulations to senior Jessica Kamelamela who had 39 digs.  Great job Bearcats!

You JV football is still undefeated as they beat Mills Friday night 54-6.  Jose Ontiveros lead the offense completing 7 of 9 passes for 128 yards and 3 touchdowns.  Kevin Grant caught 2 touchdowns and Jake Jeffries had 1.  The bearcats also scored on the ground with Eduardo Lopez scoring 1 touchdown and Deehay Allen scoring 2.

The bearcats played a stifling defense second half, as both Kevin Grant and Deehay Allen had interceptions.  Kevin Grant returned his interception for a touchdown.  Along with his interception, Deehay Allen also had a fumble recovery for a touchdown and led the team in tackles. The bearcats travel to Capuchino Friday for a 4pm kickoff.
