ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS
Skateboards, roller skates, scooters and shoes with skates MUST NOT be ridden on campus, including the PAC and Parking Lots. If they are used during the day, they will be confiscated and held for parents to pick up.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM MR. FREIBERG
- Detention begins this week. Detention is held in the Cafeteria on Wednesdays and Fridays right after school at 2:30pm SHARP. If you are late, you will not be admitted. Failure to serve assigned detentions will result in double the detention, parent contact and possible Behavior Contracts. Do the right thing and get your detentions served the first time!
- Parking: Starting tomorrow (Wednesday, September 3rd, all students with vehicles that are parked on campus without a VALID SMHS PARKING PERMIT will receive disciplinary consequences. That will involve loss of parking privileges, detention, parent/SMPD notification and Student Behavior Contracts. Get your permits and display them correctly!

SMHS and Campanile Test Prep are offering a free full-length Mock S.A.T. on Saturday, September 6th. The test is a fundraiser to benefit the Dan Stone Scholarship Fund at SMHS. Pre-registration is required. Visit our school website for all the details!

NATIONAL SCHOOL LUNCH PROGRAM
If you are a returning student and you participate in the National School Lunch Program and receive free or reduced brunch and lunch, you will have to reapply by September 23rd, or the system will automatically drop you and you will not be able to get food. You can go to the District website and apply online. Although you have plenty of time, it is better to get this done sooner than later.

HOMEWORK CENTER IS BACK
Are you looking for a quiet place to study after school? Or do you need extra help? Come to the Homework Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays, in the Library from 3:15-4:15pm. You’ll have access to computers and teachers!

Outdoor Ed Cabin Leaders are needed for Abbott, Crocker & Borel Middle Schools during the months of September and October. Interested juniors and seniors, please sign up in the Health Office (Room A116).

- Attention Juniors! The PSAT (the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) will be taken by all juniors on Wednesday, October 15th, during the school day. All juniors must see Mrs. Fenech in the Career Center to register for the PSAT. Donations for the cost of the test are $22.00. Donations should be made payable to “San Mateo High School”. Fee waivers are also available. Students can visit the Career Center before or after school and during brunch and lunch breaks to register this week. Remember: ALL JUNIORS must register for the PSAT THIS WEEK. Keep in mind that this is a great way to prepare for the SAT and get feedback on improving skills needed for college success. You may qualify for a National Merit Scholarship.
- Attention Sophomores! If you are planning to take the PSAT, the test will be given on Saturday, October 18th, beginning at 7:45 am, at Hillsdale High School (3115 Del Monte Street, San Mateo). To register for this test, you must pick up your form in the San Mateo High School Career Center. All registration will be done through San Mateo High School. The last day to register with Mrs. Fenech is Friday, Sept 5th.
BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT/MINIMUM DAY
Back to School Night is this Thursday, September 4th. We will have a minimum day on Friday, September 5th. Here is Friday’s time schedule:
