Volunteer Opportunities with the City of San Mateo
Come to the Career Center during lunch, on Friday, December 2nd to learn about volunteer opportunities with the City of San Mateo. Learn about the new "Do it yourself" volunteering program. Your knowledge and skills can make a difference in someone's life. 

Student Ambassadors from Education for Fair Consideration has been rescheduled to Friday, December 2nd during tutorial, to present information on the Dream Act, Careers and the best ways to get the most out of your college experience.  All grades are invited, please come to the Career Center to pick up your pass. 

La presentación de la Organización Educadores para una Justa Consideración fue cambiada para el dia Viérnes 2 de Diciembre. Se realizará en el Centro de Carreras durante Tutorial y se ofrecerá información sobre EL ACTO DE SUEÑO, Carreras, y la mejor manera de obtener un máximo provecho de la experiencia universitaria. Se invita a los estudiantes de todos los grados que por favor se acerquen al Centro de Carreras para recoger su pase.

Canned Food Drive is happening Now! – (From Ms Cowey and the CFD Crew, #DefeatHunger). 
Be sure to bring in your Food Donations on Wednesdays and Fridays to your Tutorial teachers room. LABEL your box/bag so that it is counted for your team. If the room you need to get into is locked, drop the food in A001. All monetary donations need to be given to your Tutorial Teacher and they will turn it in to the Main Office. Checks can be made payable to "Samaritan House" You can also donate online w/ a credit card if you prefer: smhscfd.com (this is also tracked by tutorialThanks for all you do to help so many! 

The Choirs of Burlingame and San Mateo High Schools Present: Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Mozart!
Come to the winter concert that will include Seasonal Inspired Songs and other choral selections from Classical Composers such as Mozart and Haydn.  It will end with the traditional mass choir singing of “The Hallelujah Chorus”!  Don’t miss this great celebration of the season!

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  Art, Essay and Poetry Contest
The 34th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Essay and Poetry Contest will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2017, from 6-8:30on for students Grades 5-12 at the Martin Luther King Community Center, located at 725 Monte Diablo Ave, San Mateo.  This year’s theme: What does the phrase “Beloved Community” mean to you?  Pick up an application in the Main Office. There are cash prizes.
Students who are in the Free and Reduced Lunch Program can purchase discounted SamTrans bus tickets for the month of December. Please see Mrs. Hickey in the Health Office, A116.
