A Message from Ms. Shiu regarding:  African American Students’ Day at Hewlett Packard
Are you interested in attending African American Students’ Day at Hewlett Packard?  You must have at least a 2.0 GPA and complete the field trip packet.  Limited space only 2spots left.  First come, first serve. This is a great opportunity to look at job opportunities within the company.  Please see Ms. Shiu for a packet.

Next Tuesday on February 10th  the College of San Mateo will be speaking in the Library here at San Mateo High School, If you are planning to attend or if you are interested in attending the College of San Mateo, Cañada or Skyline please go down the career center to pick up your pass and learn more! The Presentation will take place during 3rd period, students attending a 2 year college post high school are highly encouraged to attend.

Sports Announcements:
San Mateo Freshmen Boys Basketball beat Aragon by a score of 51-33 on Saturday! George Kautai and Amee Kotti led the offense with 15 and 14 points respectively. Andrew Breen led the defense with a season high 12 blocks.  Great job Team!

A Message from Matt the Trainer:
Track & Field must all complete their concussion testing on Today, after school in the C lab in order to play this season.

WINTER MUSICAL TICKETS ON SALE NOW!  Get your tickets today at Lunch for $5!
Our winter musical, URINETOWN has opened and plays for the next two weekends. Tickets are on sale in the Quad during lunch today and next week and at the PAC box office before each show. Students may purchase unreserved seats for $5.00 by showing their student I.D. card. Regular reserved seating costs $15 for students/seniors and $20 for adults. Come support SMHS Performing Arts at this hilarious musical!

PROJECT NUMBER ONE: The SMHS Drama department is joining forces with the AP Environmental Science class on a project that will conserve thousands of gallons of water a year!  Project Number One will raise funds to replace every urinal at our school with modern waterless facilities.  It’s the (waterless) wave of the future, folks, and San Mateo High is going to be there first!  Check out the display table in the lobby during every performance of URINETOWN and please bring your dollars and change to donate. Help us be flush with funds so we can end flushing at Mateo! Contact Mr. Friedman/Appleman with questions.

A Message from Ms. Fergusson:
Our Mock Trial team will be competing at the South City Courthouse on tonight, Feb. 3. Prosecution will be competing at 5:30 (against Mills, Half Moon Bay, and Jefferson) and Defense at 7:30 (against El Camino, South City, and Oceana) on those nights. Everyone is welcome to come watch these events. The courthouse is at 1050 Mission Street in South San Francisco. Once inside, look for the courtrooms where Team "B" is competing. That's us.

Hygiene Drive
Project Fresh is collecting any hygienic supplies for the next 2 weeks.  Just bring your items down to the quad at lunch.  We have many rewards for you donations!  More info is provided on the Facebook Event page and at the table during lunch.  Thank you for your help!
